The event took place with a total of 7 companies participating as case studies.
Minister of Digitization, Denmark, Marie Bjerre announce the winner of the Dataethics Prize 2023: Emento, represented by Co-Founder Mikkel Bech and DPO Lyng Salling
The purpose of the newly established award and the four days of work developing concrete products was to highlight innovative startups and SMEs that aim not only to create economically profitable businesses but also to establish themselves in a tech-responsible and data-ethical manner.
The jury’s decision to award Emento was based on the fact that they involve users in the development phase to ensure their needs are prioritized, and their health information is handled with care and responsibility. At the same time, the solution saves time and money in the Danish healthcare system.
Lyng Salling, Data Protection Officer at Emento A/S, says:
- We are thrilled and honored to receive the first Data Ethics Award and thank Minister of Digitalization Marie Bjerre for demonstrating an active stance on data ethics and leading the political path towards responsible and ethical digitalization in Denmark.
We would also like to thank DI Digital and the Financial Services Union for highlighting Data Ethics. It is important to demonstrate that companies can combine data ethics and digital responsibility with a sustainable business model. In Emento’s case, data ethics and data security are prerequisites for the trust in Emento’s products.
